About 100 years ago Mulla Abdul Hussain Sultanjee, hailing from Sidhpur, Gujarat, established a trading firm dealing in Industrial Hardware, Machine tools and Mill spares etc., at Chennai. After his demise his three sons Messers. Taherally, Salehbai, Saifuddinbhai joined the business and extended the same by opening further business trading organizations in Coimbatore, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Known for their business ethics and prudence in trading, these firms were known as Vagh Group of firms. During 1936, the trading activity was further extended by entering into tea manufacturing activity and in 1962 the same was extended to include manufacturing Tea-chest panels, plywood and wood panels products, Wood working machineries and material handling equipments and thereafter quality wood furniture and furnishing materials by setting up several factories. The Vagh Group concerns are family owned.
